{"id":486,"date":"2011-01-13T13:16:16","date_gmt":"2011-01-13T17:16:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ocwordcamp.com\/?p=486"},"modified":"2011-01-13T13:16:16","modified_gmt":"2011-01-13T17:16:16","slug":"goals-for-orange-county-wordcamp-2011","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/oc.wordcamp.org\/2011\/goals-for-orange-county-wordcamp-2011\/","title":{"rendered":"Goals for Orange County WordCamp 2011"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We had so much fun putting on Orange County WordCamp last year that we are doing it again!\u00a0 We are currently in the planning stages for OCWC 2011, setting goals, courting speakers, looking for sponsors&#8230;\u00a0 No commitments yet, but it&#8217;s shaping up to be a great event.<\/p>\n<p>Based on the survey we sent out after the event and the feedback we received here&#8217;s what we&#8217;d like to improve:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>CRASH COURSE &#8211; Many people mentioned they were complete WordPress n00bs, so right from the gate they were out of their element.\u00a0 We were thinking of starting the beginner track with a 2 hour crash course on the basics of WordPress.<\/li>\n<li>GENIUS BAR &#8211; Get some one-on-one time and ask specific questions.<\/li>\n<li>FREE PARKING &#8211; Last year at UCI we weren&#8217;t able to manage free parking which added to the cost of the event.\u00a0 We&#8217;d like to remedy that this year.<\/li>\n<li>FUNDRAISING &#8211; We were super green in this department last year.\u00a0 Hopefully this year we&#8217;ll be able to reach out a bit more, get some more sponsors to help make the event better and lower the ticket price.
