Chris Lema will be leading a sure to be excellent Business Coaching workshop on Sunday afternoon.  He will be bringing in some renowned business coaches for the session – Syed Balkhi, Karim Marucchi, David, Henzel, and Steve Zehngut (who is also leading the beginner’s workshop on Saturday morning and giving a presentation on Build a WordPress Theme with Foundation & Underscores on Sunday morning!). We’d like to introduce these fine folks to you.

David Henzel Originated from Wiesbaden, Germany, and has launched several successful technology companies. He is an entrepreneur, engineer, and marketing professional. His past ventures specialized in system and network management services and e-commerce. Upon moving to Los Angeles, David co-founded MaxCDN a company focused on Content Delivery Networks. He currently resides in Los Angeles with his wife, new daughter, and their two dogs. He is passionate about helping others and changing the world.

Karim Marucchi is the Founder and Chairman of the VeloMedia Group, the parent company of boutique professional service organizations with offices in Los Angeles, Denver, Bucharest, Las Vegas, New York and Rome. Over the last twenty years he’s run startups, taken companies public, managed mergers and acquisitions, and led professional service organizations across the globe. Today he’s the CEO of Crowd Favorite, the first premiere WordPress agency for the Fortune 500, where clients such as National Geographic, DirectTV, Lexus, the Dallas Mavericks and major entertainment studios count among the company’s client roster.

Syed Balkhi is the founder of WPBeginner (the largest free WordPress resource site) and List25 an extremely popular entertainment site with over 725,000 subscribers and 90 Million video views. Syed’s work has been featured in NYTimes, HuffingtonPost, Yahoo Small Business, Wired, Mashable, and countless other well-reputed online magazines. Syed has worked with some of the largest brands in the industry including but not limited to WarnerBros, Webs, Mercer, and more.

Steve Zehngut founded Zeek Interactive in 1995 and he has been the creative technologist behind the Huntington Beach based company since its inception. Under his direction, Zeek has grown from an apartment bedroom to one of Southern California’s leading development and consulting shops. Steve is the organizer of the OC WordPress Meetup and has helped build the community to over 1100 members. He is a frequent speaker at industry conferences and has taught interactive courses at UC Irvine, USC, the American Film Institute, and Cal State Long Beach. Steve has a BA in Film from Cal State Northridge.

Every WordCamp schedule is difficult to create and this year is no exception. But we are most pleased with the results. Both Saturday and Sunday are equally solid and each chunk of time has a nice balance between developers, designers, and other topics. Take some time to review the schedule and start planning your two days!

WordCamp Orange County 2014 Schedule

WordCamps don’t happen without the generous help of the WordPress community. With that, we need 5 or 6 volunteers. Why volunteer? Well, you’ll get a free ticket to the event, an invite to the speaker/sponsor dinner, our gratitude, and a big hug from Brandon.

We need folks we can count on. If you are interested, drop us a line with the form below. We’re looking for a few people who enjoy lending a helping hand, and a couple of room monitors:

ROOM MONITORS: We need some room monitors. We’ll have two auditoriums running simultaneously each day. Each room needs one person to make sure the camera is running, introduce the speaker and bring the room to order at the start of each session, keep the speaker aware of session time, and help transition between speakers. We don’t want any one person tied to a single room all day, so we are looking for teams of two per room to divvy up the workload.

Some of you may be viewing the Attendees Page and wondering, “How did some people get their image up there? And why do I have the default Greendale Human?” The answer is Gravatars! If you would like to have your image appear on the attendees page as well, go to the Gravatars website and register an account (it’s totally free). Then add the email you used to buy your WordCamp ticket to your Gravatar account and associate an image/icon with that email. Once that is done, this site will automatically pull that image up on the Attendees Page. This will also work for any other site makes use of Gravatars, like other WordCamp sites, blog comments, etc.
