Organizers

Meet the heroes and villains serving as WordCamp Orange County 2017’s organizers:

Steve Zehngut

Steve founded Zeek Interactive in 1995 and he has been the creative technologist behind the Huntington Beach based company since its inception. Under his direction, Zeek has grown from an apartment bedroom to one of Southern California’s leading WordPress and mobile development shops.

Steve is the organizer of the OC WordPress Meetup and has helped build the community to over 1,500 members. He is a frequent speaker at industry conferences and has taught interactive courses at UC Irvine, USC, the American Film Institute, and Cal State Long Beach. Steve has a BA in Film from Cal State Northridge.

David Margowsky

David Margowsky is the project manager for Pixel Jar – a boutique WordPress design agency. Dave works with some amazing people who are way smarter than him. This is David’s third year as an organizer for WordCamp Orange County. His super powers include fastidious organization and nerdy wisecrack. David collects comic books, plays video and roleplaying games, and loves to travel with his wife.

Brandon Dove

Brandon Dove is a co-founder of Pixel Jar and the lead developer of a commercial plugin, AdSanity. He is the current co-leader of the OC WordPress Developer meetup, and former lead organizer of WordCamp Orange County. He’s an active member of the WordPress Community team, and has recently been deputized to help bring more WordCamps, to more places, for more people.

Jeff Zinn

Jeff is a front-end web developer and co-founder of Pixel Jar, a custom WordPress development firm in Orange County, CA. He is also on the development team for AdSanity, a premium ad management WordPress plugin for WordPress. He has co-organized WordCamp Orange County from its inauguration in 2010 to the present day and helps run the Orange County WordPress Advanced Developer Monthly Meetup.

When not online, you’ll either find him out surfing, camping, or hiking all that California has to offer. And on an especially ideal day, you’ll find him camping at the beach with a burrito and a cup of delicious coffee. But on a rainy day schedule, he’ll be at a museum or playing board games with friends.

Robert Nienhuis

Robert Nienhuis is a Co-Owner and Creative Director of Nien Studios, an Orange County-based design and creative firm specializing in website, mobile, UI, UX, and identity design. He has enjoyed being on the organizing team of WordCamp Orange County for the past six years.

Sarah Wefald

Sarah is the production manager at Zeek Interactive. When not making WordPress sites herself and enabling the Zeek team to build sites and apps using WordPress, she’s looking after publicity for WordCamp OC 2016. Send her a tweet at @ocwordcamp, and like on Facebook. She’s also @sarahwefald on Twitter.

Bridget Willard

Bridget Willard started her career with office work, earned a teaching degree, but returned to the office where she carved out a career in social media and marketing and ended up at a WordPress Plugin Development Shop.

Currently, she is the Marketing Manager for WordImpress whose flagship plugin is GiveWP.com — an online donation plugin, co-host of WPblab, and co-organizer of Women Who WP meetup.

She blogs about social media and, of course, WordPress on her site at bridgetwillard.com

Working with a wide variety of clients/businesses, Priscilla specializes in fitness-oriented businesses and their needs including membership sites. She loves the problem-solving nature of tackling a wide variety of tasks.

As a one woman shop, Priscilla deeply appreciates her friends in the WordPress community. Her way of giving back for the last three years has been serving on the organizing team for WordCamp Orange County. Join us, you’ll love it!

Jon Brown

Jon Brown started his journey with WordPress more than 10 years ago with a simple travel blog on WordPress.com.
